We have often seen Hollywood divorces turn into tabloid stories. Nonetheless, it is encouraging to see that some couples are prepared to go above and beyond to ensure their kids’ happiness. Famous actor and director Ben Affleck is trying something different to make sure he and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s new partner, John Miller, get along well. According to reports, the  Academy Award-winning actor and Garner’s current boyfriend have teamed up to address family issues.

Basically, Affleck, 51, is making an effort to “blend” their families by developing a bond with businessman and lawyer John Miller. The latter was in a relationship with Garner from mid-2018 to early 2020. According to sources, the pair rekindled their relationship in April 2021 and have been together ever since.

Family blending can be a subtle process, particularly when celebrities are involved. Ben Affleck, on the other hand, understands the importance of support and harmony in creating a nurturing environment for his kids. Rather than seeing his ex-wife’s (Jennifer Garner) boyfriend, John Miller, as a foe, Affleck sees him as a collaborator with a common goal: ensuring their children’s happiness and well-being. A source told Us Magazine about Affleck and Miller’s friendship.

“Ben is super down-to-earth, and so is John. They have a mutual respect for each other and are always very friendly with one another.”

Garner and Affleck, both 51, finalized their divorce in 2018 after more than ten years of marriage. The actor later married Jennifer Lopez, whom he married in July 2022. Garner, on the other hand, has been dating Miller since 2018.

According to Us Weekly reports, the two couples “are all mature” and have worked hard to make “their children the focus of those relationships”. Moreover, Affleck and Miller have grown to have “a lot of mutual admiration and respect” as a group to integrate their families.

Garner and Affleck have a son and two daughters, while Miller has two children from a previous marriage with Caroline Campbell. Lopez, 54, and her ex-husband Marc Anthony are parents to 15-year-old twins.

Although Jennifer Garner and John Miller have generally avoided the spotlight, they have recently started to open up more about their relationship. A source recently told US Magazine in a feature article:

“Jen and John are in a great place. They used to go out of their way to keep a low profile, but they’ve both become very secure with their relationship and how it’s all worked out.”

Garner’s life now seems somewhat at peace, thanks to Miller, as the source further informed:

“Jen and John have a really special relationship. After having so much of her [marriage with Affleck] in the spotlight, she really enjoys being with someone who isn’t a celebrity.”

Similar to Garner, Miller has a highly successful career as the CEO of CaliBurger and its parent company, CaliGroup, but according to insiders, he is very grounded. They both value family and share a fondness for the little things in life (Miller and his ex-wife have a son and a daughter).

Garner’s life is going quite well. Her latest comedy movie, Family Switch (releasing today), is based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s 2010 children’s book Bedtime for Mommy. Things with Miller are obviously going well, and she gets along well with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, with whom she shares three kids.
