Much has been made of Amber Heard’s role as Mera in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and the actress finally shares her thoughts.

Much like the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) itself, Amber Heard’s time in the now defunct SnyderVerse has ended.

Heard portrayed the super-powered Mera for the final time in director James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, even though it was a truncated performance for the actress, and she’s finally broken her silence.

Heard took to social media, which included a trio of pictures of her sporting Mera’s bright-red locks, and thanked the fans for all of their support. Heard wrote (via Instagram).

After all this time, Aquaman 2 made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy) 💦 Thank you to all of my fans for the overwhelming support and love in Mera’s AQ return. Thank you so much❤️ #aquaman

Check out Heard’s Instagram post in its entirety below, which includes an image of the actress with her daughter, Oonagh Paige:

Heard first appeared in a cameo as Aquaman/Arthur Curry’s (Jason Momoa) love interest in director Joss Whedon’s cannibalized version of the Justice League (2017) film before she became an integral part of 2018’s Aquaman.

Heard returned to the role in Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021). And even though she is the mother of Arthur’s son in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Heard appears on-screen for roughly 20 minutes total.
