Le jeune joueur NBA français des San Antonio Spurs, Victor Wembanyama

At the end of a more than lively 2023 for him, Victor Wembanyama will launch 2024 on the NBA floors this Tuesday, against the Grizzlies. In the meantime, he was asked about his resolutions and delivered an answer that reflects his unique state of mind.

Without a doubt, he would have preferred to end this symbolic year for him with a victory. The setback suffered on Sunday against Boston did not, however, prevent Victor Wembanyama from drawing up a most positive assessment of 2023 on Instagram:

2023 👽 I overcame incredible challenges, left my home country and fought every day on and off the field to make my dreams come true. And my dreams came true. And history was written. And my family is safe. Best year of my life (so far)

Victor Wembanyama’s mature statement to launch 2024

Thanks to his prowess on the Betclic ÉLITE floors at the end of last season, Wembanyama achieved his goal of joining the NBA and even inherited the status of 1st pick in the 2023 Draft. Enough to receive a first big contract and thus secure his future and that of his loved ones. But then, what resolutions could he have made for the months to come? Well… none, as he said at a press conference:

I’ve never really been a fan of New Year’s resolutions. Truth be told, I have new resolutions every week, especially in this job. My teammates and I face new challenges every other day, so we can do a lot more.

Rather than setting an overall objective for the coming year, Wemby will therefore continue to fight day by day in order to redress the situation of Spurs. An attitude that visibly pleases Texan fans:

This is how you should behave… Put your head down and give it your all. 💪

I wish the whole team was as concerned about the situation as he is

Without reducing his big ambitions, Victor Wembanyama did not want to make big resolutions for the new year. Let’s hope that this decision contributes to his success, as well as that of Spurs on the pitch.
