It is tough to be a Warriors fan right now, as their team succumbed to yet another defeat. In a close-fought game, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Denver Nuggets by a scoreline of 130-127. This defeat pushes the Dubs even further away from a playoff position. Their preseason ambitions of another NBA title looks like a distant dream now.

Following the loss to Denver, Warriors’ star Stephen Curry commented on his team’s current struggles. He also talked about the environment within the locker room and made a surprising remark about their title aspirations.

Steph knows they can compete!

During a post-match press conference, Stephen Curry gave his verdict on the Dubs’ heartbreaking loss to the Nuggets. A reporter asked Curry about the Warriors’ recent trend of losing closely contested games and whether it motivates or discourages the team. To which Curry said, “It helps cause it keeps you motivated that we are a good team. When you lose hope as a team, that’s when the conversation changes. We’re not there. It’s frustrating… But even with the record we are at now, we know we can compete.”

The Warriors have had a disappointing season so far. The current Warriors roster is in dire need of an update or a reshuffle. Except for Steph, the old guards, namely, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, have struggled to find any semblance of form. Talented youngsters like Brandin Podziemski and Jonathan Kuminga have shown flashes of brilliance. But under the current circumstances, they must perform consistently. The Warriors must quickly resolve glaring issues within the roster if they still harbor ambitions of winning the NBA title.

Can the Warriors bounce back?

The Warriors currently occupy the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings, having won 16 games and losing another 18 games. Key players like Andrew Wiggins and Klay have witnessed a significant slump in their performances and productions. Overcoming the challenging situation the Warriors currently face is a formidable undertaking. But then, the Warriors aren’t an ordinary franchise. They have proven their skeptics wrong on multiple occasions.

The Warriors’ hierarchy must orchestrate a significant trade for a superstar, only then can they get their season back on track. Superstars like Zach LaVine, Pascal Siakim, and Dejounte Murray are reportedly on the trade block, and acquiring any of these talents would undoubtedly enhance the prospects of the Warriors. However, at the moment, it looks implausible for the Warriors to complete an improbable turnaround. What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below!
