Suspended since mid-December for his repeated breakdowns, Draymond Green has come out of his silence in recent hours to discuss various subjects. Among them, the case of Stephen Curry, whose treatment suffered during his absence would have appalled him.
It’s been almost a month since he was last seen on an NBA court. However, Draymond Green is not currently treating any injuries. In reality, he only owes his long-term absence to his own behavior. His latest gesture of humor to date against Jusuf Nurkic has earned him a sidelining until further notice from the league, which is however preparing to release him.
Indeed, given his good behavior in recent weeks, the Warriors’ star interior should soon return to his team’s rotation. Before that, he first made his return to the news by expressing his feelings in his podcast, the Draymond Green Show . The opportunity for him to reveal the radical decision that Adam Silver would have prevented him from taking , but not only that.
Steph Curry dragged through the mud, Draymond Green shot
Unable to help his teammates in their quest for the playoffs, Green was able to carefully follow what was said about him in the media during his suspension. He therefore did not escape Stephen A. Smith’s criticism… towards Stephen Curry, accused of not being a good leader following Draymond’s bloodshed. An attack which would have particularly affected the big man according to his words:
One of the things that hurt me the most during this process was when I turned on my television and saw Stephen A. Smith basically saying, “Steph is a bad leader because Draymond did that. » It made me angry and it destroyed me. Steph did nothing to deserve this. Why should he be called a bad leader because of this?
This guy does everything right and yet he gets taken down because of my actions? It destroyed me. It really hurt me. And given that he was publicly dismantled for this, I’m going to publicly apologize to him. I sincerely apologize to Steph for my actions.
Indirect victim of his partner’s attitude, Curry could have held it against him and not necessarily given him the support he needed. And yet, contrary to what Stephen A. criticizes him, he would have continued to honor his role as leader with Dray, as the latter asserts:
I am very grateful to Steph because during this time he checked on me almost every day, just to see how I was doing. He was like, “I’m going to stay by your side through this and I’m going to help you.” » And that’s what he did.
Having become insensitive to the criticism aimed at him over the years, Draymond Green on the other hand bitterly regrets having somewhat dragged Steph Curry into his fall. He was nevertheless able to reassure himself by observing the Chief’s behavior towards him recently.
