Ellen DeGeneres’ chicken is “fitting right in” at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s coop.

After the talk show host announced that a chicken named Sinkie was being rehomed with her “friends” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex because the rest of the flock was “picking on her,” DeGeneres shared an update on her Instagram page.

The video showed Sinkie walking toward the camera inside the chicken coop, and Meghan seems to be heard saying, “Hi!” to her from off-screen.

“Update: Sinkie is fitting right in at her new home,” DeGeneres captioned the clip.

Meghan, 42, and Harry, 39, previously gave a glimpse of the chickens that live at their Montecito, California property during a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. The coop was dubbed “Archie’s Chick Inn” after their 4-year-old son, Prince Archie.

During their chat with Winfrey, 69, the couple shared they had rescued the hens from a factory farm as part of their new “down to basics” life.

“I just love rescuing,” Meghan told Winfrey.

Meghan rescued her beagle, Guy, from a kill shelter in Kentucky, and he’s been by her side since she first met Prince Harry. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also have two other rescue dogs: a black labrador named Pula and a beagle named Mia.

Even before Meghan and DeGeneres were friends, they connected over animal adoption. Before becoming a part of the royal family, Meghan told Best Health that she was in a dog shelter when DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, came in.

“Now, I don’t know her, but Ellen goes, ‘Is that your dog?’ And I said, ‘No,’ and she’s like, ‘You have to take that dog.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m deciding.’ And she’s like, ‘Rescue the dog!’ ” Meghan recalled. “It’s sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I’m sitting there holding him and she’s like, ‘Have you thought of a name for him yet?’ And I said, ‘Well, I think I’d name him Bogart,’ and she’s like ‘You’re taking the dog home.’ ”

Meghan continued, “And she walks outside to get into her car but instead of getting in she turns around and comes and taps on the window glass and she yells, ‘Take the dog!’ And so I brought him home. Because Ellen told me to.”
