US talk show icon Ellen DeGeneres’ chicken, Sinkie, seems to be settling into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s sprawling garden at their £12m mansion in Montecito, California

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed a new addition to their ever-growing brood, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex having recently adopted Ellen DeGeneres’ pet chicken.

And now the couple’s new family member seems to be settling in nicely at their £12million mansion in Montecito, California. The rescue chicken, which is called Sinkie, once belonged to iconic US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

But Sinkie had to be re-homed because the other chickens that she resided with were bullying her. Ellen shared the news on social media recently, with the former chat show host quick to provide her followers with an update on the chicken.

Filming a video and talking in the background while doing so, Ellen could be heard saying: “Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed.

“Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more. Not sure yet what her royal title will be,” she joked. Ellen previously revealed that Sinkie, who is named after an old stone sink in her garden, suffered a broken fibula bone at Christmas.

In the video, Harry and Meghan’s massive garden was in clear view. Resembling a huge, sprawling park, lush greenery and leafy trees were in sight.

Ellen lives quite close to Harry and Meghan, with the Finding Nemo and Finding Dory star just a short five-minute drive from the Sussexes. Last June Ellen bought and restored an estate in the sought-after neighborhood of Montecito.

Purchasing Pompeiian Court back in June, Ellen renovated it before putting it back on the market for an eyewatering sum of $46.5 million.

The neighborhood of Montecito is filled with famous faces. As well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ellen DeGeneres, Montecito is home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner, Ariana Grande and many others.
