Rihanna and A$AP Rocky once again added to the growing celebrity trend of giving children unusual names following the birth of their second son.

The Diamonds hitmaker, 35, and the rapper, 34, recently revealed that their newborn is called Riot Rose Mayers in what appears to be a nod to A$AP’s song Riot – from earlier this year – which featured Pharrell Williams.

But it isn’t the first time the lovebirds have assigned a unique moniker to their offspring with their first son, born in May 2022, named RZA Athelston Mayers.

And they aren’t the only A-list parents to give their children atypical names.

Now, the names have only gotten more unique as celebrities seemingly try to one-up each other.
Nick Cannon, Ashley Tisdale and Amber Heard are all among the culprits – with many seemingly having little rhyme or reason.
Here, DailyMail.com unveils the list of the most unique celebrity baby names.

Two of them – Moroccan and Monroe – were with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
‘Moroccan and Monroe was real cool because that’s what Mariah and I came up with,’ he told The Shade Room.
‘The Moorish Moroccan vibe was always something we talked about. And then Monroe, Mariah loves Marilyn Monroe. And then we call them Roc and Roe, sounds like Rock n’ Roll, so that was always cool.’
He also shares Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen, and Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell.
‘Then, there was Golden, who really is like the golden child. [That] kid is a genius,’ he explained of the eldest’s name.
He then shared that they wanted to give the younger two children names that fit with Golden.
‘And then, his sister is Powerful, Powerful Queen, so [their] names kind of go together, as well as the youngest of me and Brittany’s children, Rise, so it’s like all of those names kind of go together,’ he explained.
He has also fathered three children with ex Abby De La Rosa named Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir and Beautiful Zeppelin.
‘With Abby… her name starts with an A, she wanted to have children with Z names, so it was like, Zion and Zillion,’ Nick continued.
‘And then, we were gonna go Zeppelin for our daughter, ’cause it was gonna be all three [Z names], but I was like, “She’s so beautiful. That’s her name. It was like, Beautiful Zeppelin.”‘

For his child with Breana Tiesi, the name Legendary Love came naturally for him.
‘[It was like], what we are doing is legendary. We got legendary love,’ he said. ‘We call him LL.’
Cannon has also welcomed a baby with LaNisha Cole who the couple called Onyx Ice.
‘And then with LaNisha, who is a strong Black woman and loves her chocolate-ness and all that, she had the name Onyx [already]. I was like, “I’m with it, let’s get it!” And then I threw on the “ice cold,”‘ he explained of the name.’
Nick has also had two children with Alyssa Scott. Their first son, Zen – whose name he claimed was ‘so meaningful’ – passed away at five months old.
But this inspired the name of their next child, Halo Marie.
‘We got to have a rainbow baby after that, that we got a chance to name Halo. So, it all comes together, it all makes sense,’ he explained.

‘She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever,’ she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
‘Her unflinching, open heart made her the most beautiful woman I had ever known.

Addressing some of the backlash, Grimes took to Twitter in an attempt to explain what each symbol in her son’s name meant.
She explained that ‘X’ is ‘the unknown variable,’ ‘Æ’ is ‘my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)’, ‘A-12’ is a ‘precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft)’ which she claimed had ‘no weapons, no defenses, just speed, great in battle, but non-violent’ and then ‘+(A=Archangel, my favorite song).’
They then had a daughter in 2022 named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
‘Exa is a reference to the supercomputing term exaFLOPS (the ability to perform 1 quintillion floating-point operations per second),’ she previously explained to a Variety journalist.

Eventually, she changed her daughter’s name to Y while their son is commonly nicknamed X.
Just this week, Elon revealed that he has a previously undisclosed third child with Grimes.
In a post on X late Saturday, he confirmed the son’s name is Tau Techno Mechanicus, or Tau for short, after a book review in the New York Times first disclosed the child’s existence.
