Miley Cyrus’ mum says star hooked her on ‘devil’s drug’ amid freak fire accident

Miley Cyrus’ mum Tish recently confessed that the Grammy Award winning singer encouraged her to start smoking marijuana after one of their tour buses exploded in flames

Miley Cyrus’ mum has revealed that the singer got her hooked on the “devil’s drug”.

After a near-fatal bus fire during Miley’s Bangerz tour back in 2014, Tish was unable to sleep after the incident kept her up at night. The bus exploded minutes after the momager managed to escape from the vehicle and understandably left her shaken up.

She recently confessed on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “I did not smoke pot until the Bangerz tour, 10 years ago. I was like: ‘This is the devil, the gateway drug,’ but we were on tour and I’m on a brand new tour bus with Noah and Miley’s manager. I’m going to sleep, but there is a fire from a burst tyre.”

“We pull up to the side of the road and I’m trying to get Noah, my dog and to wake the manager up. Three minutes later, the bus exploded. My pyjamas, laptop, everything burnt. It was crazy.”

The famous family moved to a different bus to continue the tour, but Tish was traumatised and unable to fall asleep. The blaze kept her up at tonight and Tish turned to Ambien, but felt “so bad” after using them.

Cyrus then admitted: “Miley was like: ‘Mum, if you could just smoke weed,’ that’s how it started. I started smoking to go to sleep.” Later on, Tish clarified that she “is a Christian” and she “loves weed”.

Throughout the podcast, Tish also touched upon her divorce with Billy Ray Cyrus and revealed that she once begged a doctor to “put her in a mental hospital” amid their split. The pair were married for 30 years before they decided to part ways in 2022.

Prior to their divorce, Tish and Billy were living separately: “I really, during that period, took a good, hard look at my life and was like: ‘What was I going to do?’ It had not been in a good place for a long time.”

She continued on to say that she “did stay so long out of fear of being alone” as the pair met in their early twenties. However, when they finally parted Tish said there was a “weight off her shoulders” and she was “able to breathe and smoke pot in the garden and go skinny dipping in her pool”.
