Her new album gives a rare look into the star’s personal life including her relationship with Brit Joe Alwyn.

But fans will be hoping the pop star returns to Scotland after missing us out in her line-up for the 2018 Reputation world tour.

Any return to a Scots stage will be the first one in over seven years, last appearing during her 1989 album tour.

During the 2015 tour, on stage at the Hydro, Taylor stunned fans by revealing she had a connection to Scotland.

But throughout the years, Taylor’s connection with Scotland has deepened.

‘I am one of you’

While on stage in Glasgow back in 2015, she told fans she actually had Scottish ancestry.

She said her dad had emailed her ahead of her performance to tell her about the family’s Scottish roots.

According to STV News she said: “In the subject line it said ‘tell Scotland this’, and in the email he said our whole family is from Scotland and you have to tell them that.

“So I am one of you, and I’m proud because this crowd is amazing.”

She then performed number one single Blank Space for declaring: “I happen to love Scottish people, personally.

Friendly relations

Taylor made another connection with Scotland back in 2015 when she was spotted hand-in-hand with Dumfries-born DJ Calvin Harris.

Their relationship featured across the pair’s social media with both personalities frequently keeping fans updated.

Calvin also spent the fourth of July with the 32-year-old sending fans wild by posting a snap of Taylor on his back with the caption: “Friendly relations between Scotland and America.”

The pair eventually became the industry’s biggest ‘power couple’ and highest-earning romantic pair bringing in a massive £92m in total and overtaking Beyonce and Jay-Z’s £70m.

But the love for all things Scottish dwindled a tad when in 2016, the DJ confirmed the couple had split via Twitter.

Royalty?

During the course of her romance with Calvin Harris, rumours began circling the Love Story singer was looking at the £4.6m Lethendy Estate, 14 miles north of Perth, to use as her base in Scotland.

STV News say a source at the time said the singer was all for the “romance” and the idea of buying the Scots property was a way of embracing her boyfriend’s traditions.

The Tower of Lethendy dates back to the 1570s and includes 40 acres of land stunning views of the Grampian mountains.

But there were also rumours her reasoning for looking at the castle was due to her royal relations.

Fans claimed on social media Taylor had royalty in her family line and while there is no official evidence of this posts suggested she was a “direct descendant of Robert II of Scotland”.

A website outlining the ancestry of famous people, famouskin.com, linked the Swift family, through her dad Scott Kingsley Swift, to William the Lion, King of Scotland.

But the royalty blood line rumours have yet to be proven.
