Manchester United have made their stance clear on Mason Mount.
Manchester United have made their decision regarding Mason Mount’s future after his first season at the club.
Mason Mount struggled in his first season as a Manchester United player in 2023/24.
After joining the club in July 2023, Mount made just 14 Premier League appearances and scored only one goal.
And following recent reports suggesting that Manchester United were considering selling the Englishman, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has clarified the situation.
Writing on social media, Romano said: “Manchester United are currently not planning to sell Mason Mount despite reports.
“Mount’s also only focused on Man United after unlucky first season and ready to do his best under Erik ten Hag this season.
“No plan to part ways.”
Prior to the update from Romano, Mount had been linked with three Premier League clubs as United reportedly looked to sell Mount alongside Brazilians Antony and Casemiro.
Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United were reportedly interested in the midfielder, but it now appears that a move for him will not be possible.
After demanding a fee of £60million including add-ons, expectations were high for Mount at Old Trafford.
Mount joined United from Premier League rivals Chelsea after spending six years at Stamford Bridge.
He won the Champions League with the London club and made 279 appearances, scoring 58 goals and contributing 53 assists.
Unfortunately, a calf injury ruled the 25-year-old out for the majority of the 2023/24 season meaning United fans will no doubt be excited to see how he performs in the upcoming season .
Prior to moving to the Manchester club, Mount missed 40 matches for Chelsea or Derby County, who he joined on loan for the 2018/19 season.
Comparatively, the midfielder missed 27 games for United in the 2023/24 season.

But the midfielder is confident that he will achieve success with his new club in the seasons to come.
Speaking after his transfer to United was announced, Mount said: “Manchester United will provide an exciting new challenge for the next phase of my career. I can’t wait to be part of this group’s drive to win major trophies.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the seasons ahead, and am ready for the hard work expected here.”
