Darwin Nunez took to social media to reflect on his Copa America campaign.
Darwin Nunez has broken his silence after the Liverpool star was involved in ugly scenes at Copa America.
Nunez represented Uruguay at this summer’s Copa America as he scored two goals at the tournament.
But he made headlines for all the wrong reasons when he confronted Colombia supporters following Uruguay’s semi-final tie.
After the 1-0 defeat, he climbed into the stands and clashed with fans as he looked to protect his family.
Nunez could be hit with a lengthy ban as a result of his actions.
Uruguay, however, ended their Copa America campaign on a high as they beat Canada on penalties to secure third place.
Ahead of returning to Liverpool for the new season, Nunez took to social media to reflect on his Copa America campaign.
The 25-year-old, though, failed to address the unsavoury scenes against Colombia.
On social media, he wrote: “My first Copa America. Sad for not having made it to the final, happy for what we experienced, what we learned and what we shared. This continues, let’s go Uruguay always!”
Nunez is set to be granted an extended break before linking up with Arne Slot at Liverpool in what will be his third season at the club following his £85 million transfer in the summer 2022.

Slot has already spoken to the forward and insists he will ‘fit really well’ into his playing style.
“I just told him that, from what I saw, he played multiple positions and what positions – or position – I see him playing,” he revealed.
“I assume he’ll fit really well into this playing style because I like him. I’ve told him that already; he’s one of the players I’ve spoken to.”
Nunez scored 15 goals in all competitions in his debut season at Liverpool.
Last season, he bagged 18 goals across all competitions, marking a slight improvement from the previous campaign.
