While fans of pop sensation Taylor Swift were eagerly anticipating her performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards,
it has been confirmed that the multi-talented artist will not be taking the stage during the prestigious music event.

Swift, 34, is expected to attend the annual Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, but sources close to the singer have revealed to natf that she will not be performing due to prior commitments. The Grammy-nominated artist must immediately travel to Japan for the next leg of her highly successful “IRS” tour.
Scheduled to perform four back-to-back shows at the iconic Tokyo Dome from February 7th to 10th, Swift’s packed tour itinerary leaves her with no time to prepare for a performance at the Grammy Awards. Following her engagements in Japan, Swift will continue her tour in Australia, Asia, and Europe through the end of the summer, with concerts planned in the United States and Canada later in the year.
Despite her absence from the performance lineup, Swift remains a prominent figure at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she is nominated in an impressive six categories. Nominations include Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song “Anti-Hero,” as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Karma” with Ice Spice. Additionally, Swift is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for her critically acclaimed record “Midnight’s The Cruel Summer.”
In a recent interview on the Pat McAfee Show, Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, confirmed that he would also be unable to attend the Grammy Awards alongside her. Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, expressed his desire to support Swift but cited conflicting commitments, including preparations for Super Bowl 58 on February 11th.
“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for,” Kelce stated. However, he explained that his rigorous schedule with the Kansas City Chiefs, who are competing in their fourth Super Bowl in five years, leaves him unable to attend the music event.
Swift’s “IRS” tour has been a monumental success since its launch in March 2023, grossing over $1 billion and earning the title of the most lucrative concert tour of all time, according to Postar. The tour features a captivating three-plus-hour performance, during which Swift delights fans with tracks from nearly all of her ten original studio albums, along with surprise songs each night.
Reflecting on the demanding nature of the tour, Swift shared with Time magazine, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.” The dedicated artist revealed her rigorous preparation routine, which involved daily rehearsals and vocal training to ensure a flawless performance for her fans.
While Swift may not grace the Grammy Awards stage with her presence this year, her absence is undoubtedly felt by fans worldwide as they eagerly await her return to the spotlight after her ongoing tour concludes later in the year.
