Jennifer Lopez had a great performance on Saturday Night Live hosted by Ayo Edebiri who used the perfect sketch to issue an apology after people caught wind of insults she made back in 2020 when she compared her career to “one long scam”.

How did Ayo Edebiri apologize?

In a recurrent sketch that is called “Why did you say that” Keenan Thompson hosts a show where contestants are catfished into appearing on a show only to be shown past embarrassing comments they made on inappropriate pictures and were asked why they said that.

“I get it” Ayo began, “It’s wrong to leave mean comments or post mean comments just for clout, or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you are 24, and stupid, but I think, I speak for everyone when I say that from now on, we’re gonna be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online“.

Ayo was asked during part of the sketch why she wrote that, and used it as an opportunity to apologize while not saying Jennifer Lopez’s name.

What did Ayo Edbiri say in 2020?

Ayo Edebiri mentioned that she thought Jennifer Lopez’s musical career was “one long scam.”

“She thinks she’s on multiple tracks, but it’s not her,” Edebiri claimed, seemingly referring to a rumor that Lopez uses ghost singers to record her music.

“I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs.”

Edebiri, reportedly did some research and became really interested in JLo’s career and “read up on” theories that she was not singing in all of her tracks.

“A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J. Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio,’ like, ‘J. Lo was busy,'” she elaborated on the show “It’s like, ‘Doing what?’ Not singing, obviously!!”
