In an interview with GQ Magazine, Young Thug has revealed that his penchant for wearing female clothing is not mere dabbling; in fact the vast majority of his clothes are made for women. The dress-wearing enfant terrible said: “The clothes I got on right now, they’re women’s. Because women’s clothes are slimmer than men’s clothes. The jeans I got on right now, they’re women’s jeans. But they fit how they’re supposed to fit. Like a rockstar. The only thing I probably have in men’s is like, briefs. T-shirts. 90 per cent of my clothes are women’s.”

Thugger, our August cover star, posed for Dazed wearing a floral Gucci lace top, drawing praise from Tumblr style icon Ian Connor, who described the rapper as breaking boundaries and opening up conversations surrounding style and sexuality. Vfiles model Luka Sabbat also supported Young Thug’s Dazed spread after a slew of negative (and occasionally homophobic) feedback online.

The rapper’s fluid attitude towards style is refreshing in a world that has struggled to shift dated attitudes towards sexuality and gender. Like all great rockstars (in women’s jeans), Young Thug doesn’t give a fuck what you think.
