Snoop Dogg Concurs with Ice Cube: “No Vaseline” is the Ultimate Diss Track

Ice Cube recently made a bold assertion, declaring one of his songs to be the greatest diss track of all time. Surprisingly, Snoop Dogg has thrown his support behind Cube’s claim.

During an interview on the Earn Your Leisure podcast, Cube engaged in a discussion about his top diss tracks with the hosts. When they mentioned that Cube’s “No Vaseline” is “one of” the best, Cube interjected confidently, stating, “…the top,” and emphasizing, “And it’s not even close.” He went on to list some other noteworthy diss tracks, including Tupac’s “Һit ‘Em Up,” Nas’s “Ether,” Boogie Down Productions’ “The Bridge Is Over,” and Kool Moe Dee’s “Let’s Go.”

Snoop Dogg later chimed in, concurring with Cube’s sentiment, by commenting on the video, “Hands down he does. Nothing comes close.”

“No Vaseline” is a scathing diss track in which Cube takes aim at his former group, NWA, and their manager, Jerry Heller. The lyrics include lines such as, “The Ns With Attitudes? Who you foolin’? / Y’all ns just phony / I put that on my mama and my deаd homies.”

Cube explained his motivation for creating the track back in 2021, stating, “[NWA] came with another couple of little disses. So I said, ‘OK, man, I’m tired of this. I’m going to end this real quick. We gon’ set it all the way off.’ So that’s when I wrote ‘No Vaseline’ and recorded it. I put it on that ‘Cinderfella’ track, that Dana Dane track… we flipped it, and it became a smаsh.”
