Rapper Bandman Kevo Wants Gunna To Refund Him $250K Feature Payment, Claims He ‘Can’t Do A Song’ w/ Someone Who Allegedly Snitched On Young Thug To Be Released From Jail
Here’s something that doesn’t seem to happen often: Gunna is being told to refund money for allegedly being a snitch.
That’s correct, Florida-based rapper BandMan Kevo apparently wants the “Pushin’ P” rapper (real name Sergio Kitchens) to refund the $250,000 he was reportedly paid for a verse recorded before the YSL RICO case. He supposedly came to this conclusion because he believes Gunna snitched on Young Thug to get out of jail.
According to a tweet from BandMan Kevo,
“I paid gunna last year for a feature 250k And months later he got a caught case which put my feature and everything else got put on hold , just for him to get released and snitch. I can’t do a song with dude I need my bread back asap and if they cap im going big [with a] lawsuit.”
BandMan Kevo claims that he and Gunna collaborated on “Alone” several months ago, but the release was postponed due to the latter’s incarceration.
They even filmed a video with YSL rapper Lil Duke, who ultimately entered the same deal as Gunna, thus making Kevo‘s entire record ineffective as far as he’s concerned.
As previously reported, Gunna was one of the first of eight YSL members to take a plea deal in the ongoing RICO trial. The “You & Me” artist entered what’s known as an Alford plea, meaning he pleaded guilty because it was in his best interest while maintaining his innocence.
Gunna was ultimately sentenced to five years in prison, with one being commuted to time served. The remaining four years of his sentence have been suspended and will be subject to special conditions including 500 hours of community service.
Kevo‘s demand for compensation is a complete 180 from the opinions he expressed in an interview a little over a month ago where he gave Gunna the benefit of the doubt and believed the Atlanta rapper had a complex legal plan that did not involve snitching. Either way, he now believes he is giving good money to a bad guy — he just wants the six-figure check returned to sender.
Do you think Gunna should return the six-figure check to Bandman Kevo? Let us know in the comments!
