West coast supergroup Mount Westmore are claiming their East Coast rap versions of Mount Rushmore. Minus Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40 and Too Short appeared on a recent episode of webseries People’s Party With Talib Kweli where they each named who would be on their lineup of East Coast GOATs.

On Ice Cube’s Mount Rushmore of East Coast rappers are Jay-Z and Nas, both rivals-turned-friends who he’s collaborated with. E-40 mentioned Busta Rhymes, noting his innovative flow similar to the Vallejo rapper. E-40 and Busta Rhymes collaborated on the former’s “Do It To Me” from 1998 album The Element of Surprise.

Admitting that he’d change his East Coast favorites, Short gave props to “Hip-Hop Hooray” duo Naughty By Nature who hail from New Jersey. While the trio each had different picks, E-40 declared that the current Mount Rushmore of West Coast emcees is undeniable.

“I haven’t seen not one person argue about us being Mount Westmore,” E-40 said. “Young or old, you can’t.”

Later in the interview, Cube, 40 and Short shouted out late West Coast legend 2Pac, with 40 mentioning that Pac name-dropped him on one of his earlier albums.

“If he fuckin’ with you, he fuckin’ with you,” said 40. “He was uplifting to females and the urban community as well.”

Mount Westmore released their debut album Snoop Cube 40 Short on December 9.
