“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay has a treehouse, swing set and basketball hoop that are too close to her neighbors’ property, violating the laws of East Hampton.

A letter from her 10-year-old son, August, to the East Hampton Village Zoning Board of Appeals, saying, “I promise to play basketball really, really, really quietly,” wasn’t enough to sway the board.

The East Hampton Star reports that Hargitay and husband Peter Hermann were denied variances and will have to move the structures from the property line, even though the treehouse — which Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke reportedly built for his daughters, including “Girls” star Jemima Kirke, when he lived in the home — was there when they bought the property in 2010.

Meanwhile, former Disney chairman Michael Eisner won the right to build an addition to his house on the village’s Main Street.
