(UPI) — Hilary Swank, Debra Messing, Blair Underwood, Maria Bello, Danny Pino and Law and Order creator Dick Wolf attended a Friday event unveiling Mariska Hargitay’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hargitay, currently starring in the 15th season of Law and Order: SVU, spent the last 14 years playing empathetic Detective Olivia Benson.

“I love you, you’ve done an incredible job,” Wolf said at the ceremony. “You are one of the icons of television, and certainly, I think the female icon for millions of women not only here, but all around the world.”

“I am so moved by you and so grateful to all of you and you’re what, as I said, makes today possible,” Hargitay said.

Hargitay was honored with a star next to her mother, 1950s sex symbol Jayne Mansfield, and described the experience as “profound.”

“It was a deeply profound, meaningful day and a huge marker in my life,” Hargitay told Jay Leno on Friday. “I felt so connected to her.”
