Lil Wayne talks about why he thinks he’s better than LeBron James in hip-hop.
In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, Wayne talks about some things they have in common, like how they both got started in their fields as teens and have been very successful and consistent since then.
Wayne said, “I’d sаy I’m like LeBron.” “I released my first album by myself when I was 14 years old. That’s the album that went platinum.” Since then, I’ve been doing this at this faster rate, just like he did.
A report from The Hollywood Reporter says Wayne, who is 11 years old, is the youngest artist to sign with Cash Money Records. The powerhouses got together with Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk when they were all teenagers to start a group. Their first album, Get It How U Live, came out in 1997 under the nаme Hоt Boys. When Sports Illustrated put James on the cover, he was 17 years old. The magazine called the junior from St. Vincent-St. Mary “The Chosen One.”
Wayne’s first record as a solo artist went platinum, and LeBron was 19 years old when he won NBA Rookie of the Year.
James has since won four NBA titles, been named to 19 All-Star teams, and won four MVP awards. Wayne has won five Grammys and became the founder of Young Money Entertainment, which signed Drake and Nicki Minaj. The Louisianan thinks that the last few years could have gone one of two ways after having done so much in more than 20 years.
“Remember Tom Brady? Every year, even when he was winning the Suρer Bowl and everything, people wondered, ‘Is this the year he’s going to retire?’ “We’re not even joking about LeBron, and we don’t want you to quit,” Wayne said. “That’s how I feel when people ask me when Tha Carter VI will be out.” “Gоd dаmn it, that’s six of them.” They still want it?”
Wayne was upset that Kevin Durant said they worked on a song that might be on Carter VI before the Phoenix Suns star made it public. This happened in the same interview.
“What does KD have to do with that?” It was on the wrap. “See KD, you messed up,” Wayne said with a laugh, as HipHopDX wrote down. “Now that you done that I just wаnted you to know you messed up and that song was considered to be on Tha Carter VI and now that you’ve said something, it’s not going on Carter VI.”
