Speaking with Bovada, via Mark Medina, James opened up about what this means to him, his family, and his fans.

“I’m just humbled and very blessed, obviously. I don’t take it for granted, being an All-Star,” James said.

“The family name on the back of the jersey is very important to me when it comes to acknowledgment and accolades, things of that nature,” he added.

James then gave a shout-out to the people who support him.

“And also the fans that have been down with me for the last decade or two decades, plus. Anytime I’m able to have that accomplishment means a lot to them as well. I do it for them because they’ve been along this journey for so long,” he said.

“It’s pretty cool that I’m still able to do it and do it at this level,” James concluded.

James hasn’t missed an All-Star Game since his rookie year back in 2003-04.

Since then, he has been selected for every single All-Star Game and has usually been the biggest and most important player on his respective team.

The numerous selections of James aren’t just because of his status and his legacy, they’re also because of his skills.

James is a highly impactful player, even at 39 years old.

In 2023-24, James is producing 24.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 7.8 assists per game and is shooting 52% from the floor.

He is perhaps the biggest name in the NBA still but he’s also a wonderful basketball player, which means his inclusion in the All-Star Game is definitely earned.
