Cordell Broadus, standing tall at 6’3” much like his father, Snoop Dogg, has gracefully transitioned from the iconic Dogg Pound into the realm of international menswear runways.
Despite growing up surrounded by the beats of the Dogg Pound, Cordell has shifted his focus from the music industry to the captivating world of fashion.
His runway debut for Dolce & Gabbana’s spring/summer 2018 men’s collection in June marked the beginning of his journey, and he is eager for more.
When asked about his interest in fashion and film, Cordell shared, “My father always took us to the movies when we were children, inspiring my pursuit of a career in film direction.
Fashion allows me to express myself freely and imaginatively, and I hope to inspire younger children to feel secure in expressing themselves.
As an ambitious entrepreneur, I intend to follow my passions for fashion and cinema.
While my personal style tends towards the masculine, I enjoy infusing it with vibrant hues and an eccentric sense of confidence.”
Reflecting on his transition from football to fashion, Cordell revealed that he initially played football in high school but felt the need for a more imaginative and intellectually stimulating endeavor.
A twist of fate occurred when ESPN contacted his family to feature them in a show just as he contemplated quitting football.
By the time the show aired, his team had won the championship, and the world knew him as a football player.
Despite this recognition, Cordell chose to attend UCLA’s summer football training program over USC to pursue an education in film, redirecting his true aspirations toward cinema and fashion.
Currently serving as the Creative Director for the Joyrich brand, Cordell is immersed in the brand’s spirit and vitality.
Collaborating with the brand’s owner, he is working on a line inspired by his father.
The first set of merchandise pays homage to the hip-hop styles of Los Angeles and Snoop from the early 1990s, showcasing Cordell’s commitment to leaving his mark in the ever-evolving world of fashion.
