Snoop Dogg has credited lifestyle guru and longtime friend Martha Stewart for helping to launch his new ice-cream range at Walmart.

The Dr Bombay Ice Cream – named after the rapper’s Non-Fungible Token NFT character – will hit shelves for $4.98 across 3,500 stores from August 1.

The range includes seven different flavors such as Bonus Track Brownie, Cocoa Cream Cookie Dream and Iced Out Orange Dream – creations he said were inspired by his marijuana induced ‘munchies.’

In an interview, Snoop, 51, told TMZ Stewart was to thank for his latest career venture, along with fellow rapper Master P.

‘I give two people credit for where I’m at right now. Master P showed me the business. But Martha Stewart showed me how to take it to another level,’ he told the outlet.

‘She was always explaining to me about being in different department stores, having a cookbook, expanding my business, doing different things to diversify my portfolio.

‘She showed me how to excel at what I’m doing. Master P put me through college but I believe that Martha gave me that hands-on experience.’

Snoop and Stewart’s unlikely friendship has been the subject of public interest since they met in 2008 when he appeared on her TV cooking show, Martha. The duo made mashed potatoes together.

He reappeared on the program in 2009 to bake brownies with his friend. In 2016, they hosted the show Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party together – with the last season airing in 2020.

Discussing their relationship, Snoop told TMZ: ‘Once we got together, you’ve seen that people love people. That’s one thing about me and Martha’s relationship that I love is that it unites people of all walks of life.

‘They see two people that genuinely love each other and care for each other and that makes the world feel the same way.

‘You can love somebody no matter where they from, what color they are, where they were raised.’

He added: ‘It’s all about getting together and understanding who they are and finding things you both enjoy and love.’

In a statement about his latest ice-cream range, Snoop said he had poured his ‘heart and soul’ into perfecting the flavors.

He also told TMZ the idea for the range came after he got tired of mixing up different types of ice-cream to satisfy his ‘munchies’ after consuming weed.

The Drop it Like it’s Hot rapper collaborated with Happi Co. on the venture.

Happi Co. CEO Sam Rockwell said in a statement: ‘As a company we’re always looking to develop products and partner with personalities and brands that embody authenticity.

‘When Snoop approached us with the idea of starting a new company with a focus on frozen treats, it became obvious that we share core values, which is a key ingredient for a strong partnership.’
