Kareena Kapoor spoke about her infamous catfight with Priyanka Chopra and claimed that it was all wrong and rubbish.
Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra’s catfight was one of the most gossiped affairs of Bollywood back in the day.
For the unversed, the leading divas of the time got pitted against one another due to their conflicting personal and professional choices.
Well, it all started when Priyanka started to date Shahid Kapoor, who was Kareena’s ex-flame at one point in time.
Joining the controversial chat show, Koffee With Karan, the duo took a dig at one another, from one’s acting skills to the other’s apparent use of a Western ‘accent’.
However, finally, it was again on the show, Koffee With Karan years later that the diva met again and brushed aside differences to become thick as friends. And now, Kareena responded to the same topic again.
Kareena Kapoor calls her infamous catfight with Priyanka Chopra ‘rubbish’
In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Kareena Kapoor was asked to share her take on the frequent catfights that used to take place between leading divas in the 90s.
Moreover, she was asked to speak about one of her infamous catfights with Priyanka Chopra.
In her response, Kareena mentioned how leading ladies were purposely pitted against one another back in the day.
Moreover, speaking about her ill-will with Priyanka, Kareena tagged it as a rather immaturity of age, which they later grew up from. In her words:
“Oh God! The ’90s were full of it, the ’90s started, and in 2000, everyone was having a catfight. Kuch bhi bol do and catfight. All rubbish. I was like, what is going on? But I think maybe we all had that energy- you know, some sort of thing where we were all wanting to just prove ourselves. But I don’t think that attitude lasted, and you kind of learn through that.”
When Kareena praised Priyanka for making India proud
While leaving the past behind, Priyanka and Kareena have moved on in life and brushed aside their differences.
While they do not meet up like best friends, they never fail to be one another’s cheerleaders.
She could be seen praising Priyanka in the show, Koffee With Karan, as she mentioned the latter’s talent to carry herself with grace on the global platform, such that it makes the country proud.
When Priyanka gave a sassy response to Kareena’s criticism on her accent
In an old episode of the controversial chat show, Koffee With Karan, Kareena Kapoor took a dig at Priyanka Chopra’s accent, which laid the base for the massive controversy.
For the unversed, previously, the divas worked together in the film, Aitraaz.
However, it was the movie which spread further discontent among the divas since Kareena felt overshadowed by Priyanka’s character in the film.
Returning to the show, when Priyanka was told about Kareena’s statement about her accent, the diva gave a befitting reply by taking a dig at the latter’s personal life. She said:
“I got it from the same place her boyfriend got it from.”
