He’s known the world over as a Hollywood heartthrob and an immensely talented actor who’s starred in some of the biggest films of the last century, yet once upon a yesteryear Brad Pitt was just like the rest of us… sort of.

What I mean by that is that it hasn’t always been bright lights, red carpets, eye-watering pay checks, and sprawling mansions for the now-60-year-old.

Don’t believe me? Well, 90210 alum Jason Priestley has shed light on a period in time where he, Brad, and another male shared an apartment in Hollywood back in 1987, and it certainly makes for interesting reading…

Imagining Brad Pitt as anything but a global superstar these days takes some doing.

Some people just have that ‘IT’ factor about them, a celebrity aura, if you will, that makes it seem as though they were destined for the high life at the top of the entertainment industry.

For some – child actors and the sons and daughters of the most popular celebs in the world – the concept of life without the flashing of press cameras and crowds of people wanting to know your every move is alien.

Yet other celebrities have more humble beginnings, and many of them – actors in particular – had to once fight tooth and nail to get to where they are.

Believe it or not, Brad Pitt’s future as an icon of acting wasn’t always set in stone. There was a time when he shared an apartment in a less-than-desirable area of LA with two other males who also had yet to find fame and fortune.

At least that’s the word from Jason Priestly, who would go on to become a household name in 90210.

According to Hello!, during a recent appearance on LIVE with Kelly and Mark, Jason spilled the beans on life with Pitt as a roomy, describing the Troy star as being a good housemate.

Priestly recalled one competition to see “who could go the longest without showering.”

“I think about it now and I’m like, ‘Dude, how disgusting. What were you thinking?’” the actor shared.

Apparently, Brad always came out on top in such competitions, much to the surprise of Priestly.

Ultimately, both men would prove successful in their attempts to crack the entertainment industry, with Jason landing his breakthrough role in Beverly Hills, 90210, and Pitt making his first splash a year later in Ridley Scott’s 1991 classic, Thelma & Louise.
