“It was a dark period,” she told Howard Stern about the consequences when doctors made mistakes during surgery.

“My face looked completely different. I fell into a state of depression,” Chopra Jonas said, adding that she was later dropped from three other films and thought her acting career “was over.” ended before it began”.

The Indian star admitted that her mental health had declined, getting so bad that she couldn’t leave the house. Until her father – a doctor – encouraged her to have corrective surgery.

“I was so scared of it, but dad said, ‘I’ll be in the operating room with you’. He helped me get through everything and helped me rebuild my confidence,” Priyanka Chopra Jonas recalled.

Previously, Chopra Jonas shared details about her botched nose surgery in her memoir Unfinished, saying the results left her feeling “devastated and hopeless.”

Famous globally since winning Miss World 2000, Priyanka Chopra Jonas began suffering from a “long cold” in the summer of 2001, which she thought was simply a “sinus infection”.

“I have difficulty breathing. This is a problem that people with asthma cannot ignore,” the star wrote in her book. Finally, she went to see a doctor recommended by a family friend. The doctor discovered “a tumor in my nasal cavity that needed to be surgically removed.”

At the time, Chopra Jonas felt grateful because the polyp removal surgery “sounded like a routine treatment” but unfortunately for her things didn’t go as planned.

“While removing the polyp, the doctor accidentally scraped the bridge of my nose, causing it to break. When it was time to remove the bandage, the condition of my nose made my mother and I extremely panicked. My original nose had disappeared. The mold My face looked completely different. I was no longer me,” she said.

Coping with the aftermath of the botched surgery became even more difficult due to Chopra Jonas’s newfound stardom. She remembers the media giving her the nickname “Plastic Chopra” after her surgery.

“Immediately this name started appearing in articles and followed me throughout my professional life,” Chopra Jonas confirmed.

Ultimately, she also had to undergo multiple revision surgeries to repair the damage that occurred during the polyp removal process. Now, the former Miss World feels like “her nose is normal”.

“A few years ago, every time I looked in the mirror, I saw a stranger staring at me. I got used to this face. Now when I look in the mirror, I’m no longer surprised. This is my face. This is my face. is my body. I may have flaws but it’s still me,” Chopra Jonas said.
