Eminem surprised fans at 50 Cent’s Detroit Tour Stop: ‘One of the best friends I’ve ever known’
Together, the two hip-hop artists performed on Sunday night at 50 Cent’s Final Lap event.
There were other “rap gods” at 50 Cent’s Detroit show.
With his Final Lap Tour stopping in Michigan’s Pine Knob Music Theatre on Sunday, the 48-year-old rapper stunned the audience by inviting his longtime buddy and partner Eminem to the stage.
The “In da Club” rapper and 50-year-old Slim Shady surprised the audience by playing two songs together, according to The Detroit Free Press.
According to reports, the Detroit native ran out on stage to join Fiddy on the 2003 duet “Patiently Waiting” as soon as he completed his line.
Next, the two hip-hop celebrities gave a performance of “Crack a Bottle,” a 2009 song by the “Lose Yourself” singer that features 50 Cent (actual name: Curtis James Jackson III).
Fans took pictures of the intense, high-energy two-song concert.
After finishing their second song together, Eminem—real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III—talked to the fellow hip-hop star, as shown in a video that the “21 Questions” singer shared on Instagram.
The local musician said, “Detroit, make some noise for one of the best friends I’ve ever known: 50 Cent!” “Let’s celebrate hip-hop’s 50th birthday with some music, everyone—it’s still that big!” I adore Detroit, you guys!”
Later on Monday, the Grammy winner posted a carousel of images from the performance on Instagram, including pictures of the two of them performing as well as a video of the audience cheering when Eminem took the stage. “The Last lap tour incredible moments Detroit,” the rapper from “Candy Shop” captioned the photo.
The Detroit icon’s 27-year-old daughter Hailie Jade Scott, who he shares with his ex-wife Kim Scott and is the inspiration for some of his songs, was among the attendees, according to The Detroit Free Press.
Soon, the hitmakers will work together once again on a very different sort of project. 50 Cent said earlier this year that he was “in motion” to adapt Eminem’s semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile for television.
In an interview with BigBoy TV on YouTube, the recording artist said, “I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television,” adding that Eminem was also involved to help with production.

It will be significant. I’m at work. I have nothing but hits. Rapper “I’m hitting 100,” he continued. “I think it should be there for his legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of his critically acclaimed and seminal first album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, 50 Cent announced The Final Lap Tour in May.
The tour began in July and concluded in Detroit at the end of its North American leg. He will take the act on autumn dates around Europe and the United Kingdom, departing in late September.
