Johnny Depp managed to polarize the public in the thick of his domestic violence allegation.
Johnny Depp’s career has been one that has been surrounded by controversy.
Long before Amber Heard entered the picture, several different activities were a part of his lifestyle that raised more than a few eyebrows.
Despite this, there is more than a little evidence of what a good person he is.
While there were several attempts to discredit this, the actor has proved time and time again where his morals lie, with him standing true to what he believes in.

In a report released by his managers in 2017, it was revealed that Depp spent over $3 million on the funeral of Hunter S. Thompson.
The problem is that this would leave the world polarized about the actor because it was around this time that Heard accused the actor of physically abusing her in their marriage.
Johnny Depp Spent $3 Million On His Best Friend’s Funeral
Johnny Depp and Hunter S. Thompson shared a very close friendship.
The actor played the author in his 1998 adaptation Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and his portrayal of the complicated psyche of Thompson made many think that Depp understood him on a level that very few have been able to.
The actor had been a fan of his work long before working on the adaptation, mentioning that they were as close as two people could be. That was until Thompson passed away in 2005.

In a report released by his former business managers over all of his alleged expenses that Depp rang up over his time with them, via Vanity Fair, there was one very interesting detail.
It mentioned that the actor spent over $3 million to blast the ashes of Thompson from a specially designed cannon over Aspen, Colorado.
This was somewhat of a controversial decision on Depp’s part, however, he later went on to defend why he decided to do this.
Johnny Depp Was Honoring A Last Wish
Johnny Depp went on to speak about what he did at the funeral of Hunter S. Thompson around his passing, via The Guardian.
Here, he mentioned that he had absolutely no selfish intentions for the canon he got made and the ashes that were blasted over Aspen.
There were also fireworks at the author’s funeral. The actor stated that he was only honoring his best friend’s last wish before his passing.
“All I’m doing is trying to make sure his last wish comes true,” said Depp at the time. “I just want to send my pal out the way he wants to go out.”
Despite how close Depp and Thompson were, the entire situation left a foul taste in the mouths of the public at the time, who were very confused about what to believe about the actor.
The report was released in 2017, a year after Amber Heard accused the actor of physically abusing her, resulting in him, not only losing many acting jobs but also discrediting him in all of the film industry.
