Taylor Swift breaks Australian chart record despite having no new music – taking the title from the late Michael Jackson

Taylor Swift sent Australia into a frenzy last week as over four million people tried to get tickets for her Sydney and

Melbourne shows.

And the Taylor mania continues as the US superstar broke a new record in this week’s ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) charts.

As Swifties Down Under get excited for her Era’s tour, which is coming next February, her music has dominated the charts.
Despite her latest album Midnight’s coming out last October, it sits at number one on the ARIA album charts.

What’s even more impressive than that is that the top five albums in the charts are all Taylor Swift’s, which is a record.

Lover is at number two, followed by 1989, Reputation, and then Folklore.

Taylor has taken the record away from Michael Jackson, who previously held the most albums at the top of the Australian charts.
After his death in 2009, he had three albums in the top three.
