“Oh cool, this is my next job”: The $30M Movie Kristen Stewart Knew Was Destined to Do Due to ‘Weirdo’ Jesse Eisenberg

Hollywood star Kristen Stewart once revealed how Jesse Eisenberg’s name attached to a $30M movie’s script motivated her to join the cast.

Among the many star duos that have scored multiple films together, the fun pair-up of Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg is also one of them. Stewart starred alongside Eisenberg in 2009’s Adventureland and 2016’s Café Society. Therefore, after a script for another movie reached Stewart, a mere fact convinced her that it would be her next film.

2015’s American Ultra regrouped Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart for an action comedy. Directed by Nima Nourizadeh, the film managed to break even with its budget but wasn’t a commercial success. However, Kristen Stewart was rather thrilled to join the cast after she found out that her Adventureland co-star was also involved.

The Twilight actress once frankly spoke of her co-star Jesse Eisenberg being a major motivator for her to join the American Ultra cast. Speaking to E! News during the film’s promotion in 2015, Kristen Stewart was asked if the duo getting recast was a coincidence or intentional. Therefore, with a candid response, the 33-year-old actor said,

“As soon as I heard that Jesse was attached to a script that was sent my way, before I even read it, I was almost certain that—and considering that they wanted me to do it—I was like, oh cool, this is my next job, before I even got to the end of it.”
Furthermore, she also asserted that it was not proactively sought but “welcomed” by her. According to a Today interview, Stewart also marked her and Eisenberg as “weirdos.” Thus, working as a team canceled their weirdness and turned into something “cool.”
