Avril Lavigne and her collaborator-turned-boyfriend Mod Sun put on a passionate display, while enjoying a seaside stroll in Malibu on Wednesday evening.

The couple, who first went public with their romance in February, walked alongside one another before stopping to share a kiss.

Avril kept casual in an oversized Burberry hoodie that she styled with a pair of black sweatpants with a barbed wire print.

The 36-year-old Complicated singer wore her long blonde hair down and parted to one side, while keeping her ice blue eyes concealed behind a pair of sunglasses.

She strolled beside her 34-year-old musician boyfriend in a pair of multi-colored sneakers.

Mod Sun, full name Derek Ryan Smith, had his bright green mohawk in full view, but took notes from Avril by also rocking a pair of shades.

The former boyfriend of Tana Mongeau had on a charcoal toned tee, a pair of graphic shorts with a skull, and some black boots.

Avril and Mod Sun enjoyed several tender moments together throughout their sunset hangout in Malibu, including standing close to one another as they spoke.

The couple’s outing comes one day after they released a stripped down visual for the acoustic version of their emotional ballad Flames on Friday.

‘Flames is a very special song,’ Lavigne gushed to People. ‘I love how the acoustic version turned out. It really brings another layer of emotion to the song.’

Avril and Mod Sun were first romantically linked in February, just a month or so after the studio version of Flames premiered.

Reflecting on their recording session, Lavigne told the outlet that her and Mod Sun ‘had an immediate connection from the first day in the studio.’

She continued: ‘He’s an incredible artist and producer. This is the first of many. Proud of what we made with Flames.’

Circling back to the couple’s decision to release an acoustic version of Flames, Mod Sun said that they ‘wanted to offer a bright side to the story.’

The former boyfriend of Bella Thorne explained that he ‘felt like sonically [he] could paint that landscape through acoustic guitar and a string section.

Lavigne sported her signature edgy, yet glamorous silhouette, consisting of a black leather jacket, skinny jeans, and vinyl platform heels.

Since going public with their romance in February, Avril and Mod Sun have been spotted enjoying date nights around Los Angeles.

Before her divorce from the Fat Lip songwriter was finalized, the Girlfriend singer began dating Brody Jenner, although they split up after two years.

Lavigne went on to start a relationship with Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger in 2012 after they collaborated during the recording process of her self-titled fifth album.

The two became engaged just a month after they became romantically involved, and their marriage came to an end three years after they initially met, although they still remain close.

The former couple was also polyamorously involved with Bella Thorne, and in June of 2019, the musician told TooFab that he ‘got engaged, married and divorced in 15 months in Hollywood,’ speaking with reference to the Disney Channel Alum.

‘That’s what we do out here in these streets. We out here putting rings on it, that’s what our generation does,’ he added.

The media outlet also reported that, although the two exchanged vows and had a marriage ceremony, they never filed the legal paperwork that would have made their union official.
