For the most part, players from around the league have welcomed Taylor Swift with open arms. It has now been a year since the pop megastar started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and to say that her impact on the NFL has been immense would be an understatement.

Opposing players are loving every bit of it. In fact, according to a recent poll conducted by The Athletic, 72.5% of the 102 players surveyed believe that Swift’s presence in Chiefs games has had a positive impact on the NFL.

“I think it’s been positive for the league,” one player said. “I think that at the end of the day, it’s a business and you need to get as many eyes on it as possible. And she brings a lot of eyes, so, you know, if that increases the salary cap, I don’t think anybody’s gonna be too mad about that one.”

You can’t please them all, though. While 22.5% of the voters had a neutral opinion, there were still 4.9% of them who believe that Swift’s arrival has had a negative impact on the league.

As a matter of fact, one anonymous player expressed his honest discontent with the overexposure Swift has received over the past year.

“I feel like she is getting unnecessary coverage,” said one player who voted for the “negative” side. “There was the whole NFL opening season video on Twitter and she was featured five times and our quarterback was featured none. That’s not even right. She is not the NFL.”

Based on the survey, only a small percentage of players feel this way about Swift and her impact on the game. However, what cannot be denied is that there is still a number of players who are not at all pleased with how Swift has taken the NFL and its fans by storm.

Love her or hate her, though, there’s really nothing anyone can do about the fact that Taylor Swift is here and that she’s here to stay.
