Following his second consecutive winless season in Formula 1, Lewis Hamilton admits that he is emotionally drained at the end of the campaign.

Lewis Hamilton has stated that he has been left “emotionally drained” at the end of this year’s Formula 1 season.

The campaign was another challenging one for Hamilton who endured his second consecutive winless season.

Mercedes has dropped back in the F1 pecking order ever since new technical regulations came into play last year, with the seven-time World Champion’s last victory coming at the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Despite Mercedes’ struggles this year Hamilton ended the season third in the Drivers’ Championship while team-mate George Russell classified in eighth.

“I’m not burnt out,” Hamilton told media including RacingNews365.

“I’d rather not keep going into the season but I think for me I’m just more emotionally drained at the end of the year.”

Hamilton stated that the logistics of the season have been tough to navigate, with a difficult trip from Las Vegas to Abu Dhabi rounding out the year.

“It definitely has been so difficult for everybody here, all the teams moving from Las Vegas out to [Abu Dhabi]. I think it should be better next year.

“It’s obviously a very long season. I think really with all the negativity in the world as well, it’s been quite draining just to maintain a positive mindset through the year.”
