Did you catch the MTV Movie and TV Awards last night? If so, you probably witnessed Scarlett Johansson getting slimed during her acceptance speech. You’re also probably wondering if the stunt was planned or not.

The Marvel “Black Widow” received the prestigious Generation Award, and during her virtual speech in what appeared to be her home, her husband, Colin Jost, dumped bright green slime over her, seemingly to her shock.

Jost is a native Staten Islander and star of “Weekend Update” and head writer of “Saturday Night Live,” the set on which actually met, when Johansson was guest hosting.

“What the f***?” Johansson yelled, as a grinning hubby poured the bowl of slime over her camera-ready hair and makeup, as she accepted the award. “MTV! You got slimed,” blurted Jost.

Exasperated, Johansson quickly pointed out that “sliming” is characteristic of the Nickelodeon network not MTV. Sliming is a trademark on the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards, not the MTV awards show.

“I’m very, very sorry,” Jost said, as he promised to “get a towel.”

The couple married in May 2019, after years of dating. Jost proposed to Johansson with an 11-carat engagement ring in May 2019. Johansson previously told Ellen DeGeneres that he “killed it” when he popped the question.

“The goal should be that your lives are better together rather than more difficult. I think the people that are unhappy are just more vocal about it,” Jost told PEOPLE. “The people that are happy are kind of like, ‘We don’t need to tell everyone we’re happy. We’re just going to be happy.’”
