Steve Bruce is a ‘serious contender’ to land the job.
Steve Bruce could make a shock return to management, according to a report.
Bruce has been out of work since his sacking at West Brom, where he had taken charge of the Championship club for eight months.
He won just eight games during his time at The Hawthorns before he was dismissed.
But a return to the dugout is on the cards, having held talks with officials in view to being appointed.
According to The Daily Mail, Bruce is ‘in talks’ to become the new Jamaica manager in what would be his first job at international level.
A decision is expected within the ‘next 10 days’ and the former Premier League boss is a ‘serious contender’.
Jamaica have been without a manager since Heimir Hallgrímsson resigned last month.
Hallgrímsson, who is the new manager of Republic of Ireland, walked away from his position after a 3-0 loss to Venezuela as the ‘Reggae Boyz’ lost all three of their games at this summer’s Copa America.
The Jamaica squad features Premier League talent like Michail Antonio, Bobby Decordova-Reid and Ethan Pinnock as well as former Leicester City winger Demarai Gray and Kasey Palmer, who plays for Coventry City.

While Bruce hasn’t managed a national team before, the 63-year-old boasts the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic on his managerial CV.
He’s also managed the likes of Hull City, Sunderland and Birmingham City, managing over 1,000 games.
And, of course, he played under Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, where he made 417 appearances across all competitions, winning three league titles.
