Man United captain Bruno Fernandes to speak with shock club about summer transfer after Euro 2024

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes is reportedly set to speak with a potential new club after Euro 2024 is finished.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is reportedly set to speak to a shock club regarding a transfer after Euro 2024.

Fernandes is arguably United’s most important player and the skipper scored 10 goals and registered eight assists in the Premier League last season.

But the Portugal international has been linked with a move away from United in the summer.

Fernandes himself even hinted at an exit when he said, “Obviously, it doesn’t just depend on me, does it?” after being asked about his future in May.

There has reportedly been strong interest from the Saudi Pro League, who are intent on recruiting even more elite level players.

And a new report from journalist Rudy Galletti, writing for TEAMtalk, claims that Fernandes is willing to entertain offers from Saudi.

There is a proposal on the table from Saudi chiefs and Fernandes has apparently told officials he will listen to their offer after Euro 2024.

Fernandes is currently with Portugal at the showpiece in Germany and will be part of the side who takes on France in the quarter finals on Friday.

Interest from Saudi, specifically the Public Investment Fund, dates back to November 2023 when first communication was made.

There is also interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich but there is “strong pressure” from Saudi and the upcoming meeting with the negotiator is seen as an “important step”.

Fernandes still has a contact until 2026 and it’s believed he would still prefer to stay at Old Trafford.

However the money on the table could prove tempting with Fernandes approaching his 30th birthday.

Speaking about his situation in May, Fernandes told The Players’ Tribune: “I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.

“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.

“I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here.”
