Pop superstar Taylor Swift received the top award for Video of the Year at the MTV’s Video Music Awards ceremony taking place at the Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey on the evening of September 12 (US time).

 

 

Taylor Swift won Video of the Year and other honors for her hit Anti-Hero – the first single from Taylor Swift’s album Midnights. “It’s unbelievable. This is a fan-voted award that means a lot to me,” the female singer said on stage when receiving the award.

Previously, the 33-year-old female singer seemed happy to receive the award for Song of the Year, Best Pop Video, and Best Director (Anti-Hero).

Among the other winners, rapper Ice Spice was named Best New Artist. Nicki Minaj received the award for best hip-hop video (Super Freaky Girl), Maneskin won the award for best rock video (The Loneliest).

Stray Kids, a band formed through a reality show, won Best K-pop Video (S-Class) and SZA won Best R&B Video (Shirt)…

Rema and Selena Gomez received the first VMA (Video Music Awards) for Afrobeats music (West Africa) through their collaboration in the MV Calm Down.

Artists performing at the awards show include Demi Lovato, Lil Wayne, Olivia Rodrigo, show host Nicki Minaj and rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Colombian pop singer Shakira was honored with the Video Vanguard award for lifetime achievement. After performing hits like Hips Don’t Lie, Whenever – Wherever, female singer Shakira greeted her fans.

Korean group BlackPink received the award for Outstanding Choreography (Pink Venom).
