Flo Rida on Wednesday was awarded an $82.6 million sum by a jury in Broward County, Florida in his breach of contact suit against the energy drink manufacturer Celsius, who he claimed attempted to conceal revenues from him.
The 43-year-old rapper initially filed the suit in May of 2021, saying that the drink company’s parent company, Celsius Holdings Inc., had broken previously agreed-upon terms of a deal they had made in 2014, TMZ reported.
The Carol City, Florida native, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, first claimed he was owed $30,000 for the violation of the agreement, but the sum swelled as the company’s fortunes rose.
The latest: Flo Rida, 43, on Wednesday was awarded $82.6 million by a jury in Broward County, Florida in his breach of contact suit against the energy drink manufacturer Celsius. He took a sip of the energy drink following the victorious court battle
He told the AP, ‘Basically, I helped birth this company, and all we was looking for was some trustworthy people who acted as if they were family. And then when it comes down to the success of today, they just forgot about me.’
Attorneys for the beverage company said that its success came after the endorsement arrangement with the Right Round artist had concluded, and that it was attributable to other factors involving the business.
The company still has an option to appeal the verdict handed down by the jury.
Flo Rida’s lawyer John Uustal said the Whistle artist was open to taking a one percent ownership stake in the business he was initially promised, in lieu of the $82.6 million awarded by the jury.

Flo Rida said that he enjoys the products and remains a stockholder in the organization, which he would be open to working with moving forward
The rapper was pictured in court Tuesday amid the case against the energy drink manufacturer
Flo Rida ‘loved the product, and it’s been a very successful four-year relationship,’ Uustal said. ‘There were some benchmarks. He was supposed to get stock when certain things happened. And there became a dispute about whether those benchmarks had been reached. So that’s what this was about.’

‘I’m still a owner in the company,’ Dillard said, the AP reported. ‘And when you basically planted the seed for something that is successful, you can’t help but have unconditional love.’
