I’m not hating on Travis and Taylor. I’m happy to see that they’re enjoying each other’s company. Even mega stars like Taylor Swift deserve to go out, be silly, and have a good time. It’s not her fault that the television broadcast cameras kept airing her every move at the Chiefs game. She was just enjoying herself.

My family and I watched the documentary #Kelce this weekend and we loved it. What a great look into the life of an NFL star and his family.

Now in full disclosure I’m an Eagles fan and one of my favorite players is Jason Kelce. He’s gotta be the most beloved NFL Center of all time. It’s not a position that garnishes much fanfare, yet go to an Eagles game and count the number of Kelce jerseys you see. There’s a ton of them.

In the show Jason speculates about life after the NFL. The documentary was supposed to be about his final season in the NFL. It chronicles the Eagles 2022 season, where he and the Eagles battled his brother Travis and the Chiefs in the Superbowl. Of course, Jason and my Birds came up a little short in that one, but it was a game for the ages.

As I watched the documentary I couldn’t help but think Jason’s real impact on the world is going to be after he retires. For selfish reasons I’m happy he is wearing number 62 for the Birds again this year, but this dude’s special gift is much bigger than football.

Jason is authentic and is true to himself. That jumps off the screen in the documentary. He lives pretty simple for an NFL star and seems as grounded as they come. You really fall in love with his family. Yes, that includes his brother Travis, but Jason’s wife Kylie steals the show.

Jason connects with people because he is as passionate as they come and he’s a great communicator. People follow him because they feel his passion. They would run through a wall for the guy.

Luckily, they don’t have to run through a wall very often because Jason is the first to run through the wall for his team. It kinda comes with his position. He’s there, as are many offensive lineman, so other people can make the highlight reel. That’s why centers aren’t often front page news.

But Jason is special. He is front page news, and has been long before this documentary was made. He’s a guy who I would like to meet one day.

I want to meet him because of how he carries himself on the field, but even more importantly, I love how he carries himself off the field. I find myself drawn by his family values, community engagement and his team spirit.

It’s so appropriate that Travis and Taylor made all the headlines yesterday. Travis is a megastar in the making but his star shines a little differently than Jason’s.

Jason is not a headline star kind of guy. He’s more of a worker bee who people rally behind. That’s what makes his star shin so bright for me. He’s not looking for the limelight, but somehow it keeps finding him.

That’s what happens with the great ones.

This year will come to a close and I’m guessing Jason will hang up his cleats. Hopefully the Eagles will have another Superbowl Trophy in the display case. I appreciate the sacrifice he is making in the pursuit of another Championship.

I’m sure there’s part of him that’s doing it for himself, but deep down inside, I’m betting he’s doing it for his teammates, his coaches and the fans. He’s a man of the people.

I’m just glad he’s spent his career as an Eagle and has made the Philadelphia area his home with his beautiful family. Philadelphia can’t get enough of the guy and at this point, it has little to do with what happens on the field. Now the world is starting to see it too.

I hope the NFL realizes what a special embassador Jason is. He’s a different breed. And I’m sure his passion and talent will be on full display in the years to come. My bet is the NFL isn’t a big enough stage for Jason. His impact will be on a larger scale.

Jason is going places. And I’m happy for the guy. He’s my kind of Leader. The world needs more people like him 💪🙂👊

I love this beautiful photo of the Kelce family taken by Stephanie Beatty. It really captures the essence of the guy!
