She is a busy mother-of-three children with a demanding job in  television.

So Mariska Hargitay mixed motherhood with her work duties today by taking her gorgeous daughter Amaya Josephine Hermann to set with her.

The 48-year-old Law & Order: SVU star was spotted chatting to a friend whom she bumped into during a stroll home from work in the Big Apple.

Dressed in a summery brown and cream batik printed dress, the brunette held Amaya tight in her arms.

Just like her mother, the infant had on a cute little dress and had her hair pulled back in three tiny buns.

Mariska also carried a blanket in her hand in case she wanted to swaddle her baby girl.

The actress, who is of Hungarian descent, officially signed a new deal with Universal Television back to April to continue on Law & Order: SVU for a 14th season.

She is said to be earning $500,000 per episode.

She told People: ‘We were considering both international and domestic adoption and we’re thrilled that this is the way our prayers were answered.

‘We talked a lot about mixed-race adoptions, and we are very excited that we are now a multi-racial family. We’re just so happy she’s here.’

The couple, who have been married for seven years after saying ‘I do’ in 2004, met on the set of Law & Order: SVU and have three little ones.

As well as Amaya, they have one biological child, six-year-old August, and also adopted another baby, a boy called Andrew, last October.
