Cardi B and Nicki Minaj fans are once again embroiled in a heated online debate.

Stans of the rappers flocked to their defense recently after the musicians were spotted wearing very similar looks just days apart from one another, seemingly prompting a response from them both.

It seems that arguments were sparked after Nicki Minaj fans, known as the Barbz, accused Cardi B of “once again” copying the style of their favorite rap star. A video of Cardi B, real name Belcalis Almánzar Cephus, 31, was uploaded to her Instagram story showing her rocking a middle-part blonde wig with a furry white coat.

The clip quickly drew comparisons to a recent look worn by her rap nemesis Nicki Minaj. The self-proclaimed Queen of Rap, real name Onika Maraj-Petty, 41, posted several photos and videos of herself rocking the look back on December 12th and recently reposted the image amid the internet drama involving Cardi. As a caption to the post, Minaj wrote:

“B!Ches Jackin. I’m still Queenin”

All the internet chatter also enlisted a response from the “Bongos” rapper. Cardi took to her Instagram to post a live video speaking on the matter, stating:

“You muthaf**king fans and b***hes are arguing over a coat that I had on for 45 second…That’s an old coat…Y’all crying about a f**king old-a** coat. An archive piece in my f**king closet. Shut the f**k up.”

She added:

“Y’all always watching me, always trying to find some sh*t. I don’t give a f**k about these b***hes like y’all be giving a f**k about me. I don’t. I don’t watch these b***hes. b***hes can’t dress to me…b***h can’t even f**king enjoy her f**king life…Y’all crying over an old-a** coat. Suck my d**k.”

Cardi B

Though neither Cardi nor Nicki responded to one another directly, fans of both women vehemently defended them online. Many of Nicki’s fans argued that this isn’t the first time the Grammy winner has been “inspired” by Minaj, with some going as far as making a collage of all the times she’s worn something similar. On the opposing side, Cardi fans adamantly argued that Nicki and the Barbz are consistently reaching because the best-selling female rapper of all time is afraid of being replaced. Many also claimed that Cardi is, overall, just more stylish, suggesting the conversation is pointless.
