And so he starred as Jimmy Tong in the movie, The Tuxedo, which was inspired by the Bond franchise. While the movie never took off, it is possible that after Daniel Craig’s retirement Chan might finally get to live his James Bond dream in some way or the other.

Daniel Craig as James Bond
When Jackie Chan was going to star in The Tuxedo, many fans speculated that it would put him among the likes of James Bond actors, since the movie was lowkey inspired by the Bond franchise. Furthermore, in an interview with Cross Walk, the actor also stated that he loved the character and dreamt of becoming like him.
“When I younger I always dream to be in James Bond movie. I love watching and dreaming about being him when I was younger. I say I want to be like him. I dream about saving the world, saving people, so I want to be like him and do those things. So in this movie I get to be James Tong and it fun to dress in tuxedo and be cool and have all the toys that make spy cool. I had good time making this movie because of that.”
Now as the franchise has been looking for a reboot after Daniel Craig‘s departure, fans speculate that the veteran actor might finally get to have a chance at living his dream of starring in a James Bond movie, in some way or the other.

Sean Connery as James Bond
Every actor who has played the famous British spy has brought along their own take on the character. Even though all have been equally amazing, everyone who has been a fan has had their own favorite and so does Jackie Chan. In the same interview with Cross Walk, the actor revealed,
“I think, I like when I younger and he the best. Who’s the older one with gray beard? [Someone yells out Sean Connery.] Yeah that’s right! Sean Connery! He the best Bond for me, and only he the true Bond as far I’m concerned.”
While the actor hasn’t spoken on the topic in ages, it would be interesting to hear what the actor feels about James Bond now and whether he would be ready to jump on the Bond wagon if offered a role.
The Tuxedo can be rented on Google Play, while the James Bond franchise is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
