Replying to fans on Twitter congratulating him on becoming a grandad, Mikey Graham also revealed Boyzone reuniting for their 30th anniversary seems unlikely, thanks to Ronan Keating deciding that the Irish band ‘was finished in 2019’

Mikey Graham has shared the joyous news that he is now a grandad.

The Boyzone singer, 49, took to Twitter over the weekend to tell his fans his eldest daughter had given birth to his first grandchild.

Replying to fans well-wishes on Sunday, the Irish star also shot down any hope for a Boyzone 30th anniversary reunion tour in 2024 – claiming former bandmate Ronan Keating decided the group ‘was finished in 2019.”

Writing to his 66,400 followers, Mikey proudly announced that his 25-year-old daughter Hannah gave birth to a baby girl named Bonnie last month.

“Well guys hope your all doing well. Thankfully life has been nothing but wonderful to me the last three weeks since the birth of my absolutely stunningly beautiful granddaughter BONNIE,” the No Matter What singer began on Saturday.

“My eldest daughter Hannah brought her into the world on February 2nd & all is well.”

Mikey shares his eldest child with his ex-girlfriend Sharon Keane. He is also dad to Sienna Nicole, who he welcomed into the world with wife Karen Corradi in 2006.

Following up his original announcement tweet, the star jokingly added: “Think I might possibly be the first boyband grandad even going back as far as the New kids on the block. Lol. Some one else can fact check that one.”

Mikey went on to confess that he was normally a “very private man”, but “had to share this good news with all you wonderful fans.”

The star’s followers clearly appreciated the happy update from the singer, with hundreds rushing to wish Mikey and his family well over the weekend.

One even took the opportunity to ask the new grandad about a musical comeback, replying: “if boyzone do reform for a 30th anniversary tour will you be the only grandfather on tour and congratulations on becoming a grandad.”

Undoubtedly disappointing fans across the world, Mikey replied: “Aw thank you so much. Don’t mean to rain on your parade but Ronan decided boyzone was finished in 2019 so I don’t think there will be any more BZ gigs.

“Sorry folks. I’d love to do them.”

Boyzone’s last studio release was back in 2018, nine years on from the heartbreaking death of original member Stephen Gately in 2009.

Mikey, Ronan and fellow remaining bandmates Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch haven’t toured or released anything since their farewell album Thank You & Goodnight peaked at number 6 in the UK Album Charts in November 2018.

Speaking in 2020, Keith, alongside former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, teased the the much-loved group could reunite for their 30th anniversary.

Brian, who tours with Keith under the moniker Boyzlife, told The Sun: “Though Keith and I are doing [Boyzlife] and Ronan Keating is doing his solo thing, if the opportunity comes up for the boys to get together – there is going to be a 30-year anniversary in a few years – you can never say never.”
