Fans have mixed reactions to the fact that the third Venom movie might be the last appearance of Tom Hardy

The anticipation for the third film in Sony’s Venom franchise is at an all-time high as the star of the movie, Tom Hardy has confirmed that the production is in full swing. Amidst all the hype, fans forgot one thing: this will be the final movie in the Venom franchise as Hardy has only signed to star in three Venom movies.

However, many fans are sure that this is not the end as some rumors suggest that Venom, who is a part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will somehow be integrated into Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the crossover that fans got to see in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is possible for the filmmakers to do it again. On top of all this, it is also rumored that Andrew Garfield will return as Spider-Man in the third Venom movie.

The news has left the fans quite disappointed but at the same time, some agree that this is the right time to end the series,

In August 2018, Hardy confirmed that he had signed on to star in three Venom films. The first film in the series, Venom, was released in 2018 and received mixed reviews from critics. Despite the scrutiny, the film grossed over $856 million worldwide.

The second film in the franchise, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, was released in 2021. It received mixed reviews from the audience and grossed over $506 million worldwide.

In 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans got to see Sony’s Spider-Man Universe’s Spider-Man and Venom joining the MCU thanks to the concept of multiverse. By the end of the film, it was confirmed that they went back to their respective dimensions, however, some sources claim that Hardy will return as Venom in 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.

Not just this, rumors also claim that actor Andrew Garfield will once again play the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the final Venom movie. Not much is known about the film at the moment, not even the title, but it is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 8, 2024.
