Jewelry Bonney is the daughter of Ginny and the adopted child of Bartholomew Kuma. She was born with a disease called Sapphire Scales that gave protruding crystal-like structures all over her body. As revealed during the Egghead arc, Kuma decided to contact Dr. Vegapunk to find a cure for his illness but had to become a part of the doctor’s ‘Pacifista’ project, thus becoming a cyborg.

During her childhood, Bonney ate the Toshi Toshi no Mi Fruit and gained the powers of age manipulation. The true extent of her powers has been gradually revealed in the One Piece manga. It is known that the 12-year-old Bonney can change her appearance to resemble a girl in her teens or an old woman and can transfer her gaining powers via conductors such as rods and staffs.

This made her obtain the resolute Buccanneer blood temporarily.
