Swift’s alleged new role as Dazzler in the eagerly awaited 34th installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will no doubt please both comic book fans and Swifties.

The rumored casting of Taylor Swift as Dazzler in the upcoming Marvel film Deadpool 3 has generated a lot of buzz on Twitter and the internet at large during the last few days. Swift’s role in the much-awaited Marvel movie seems to have not been officially confirmed, supposedly for good reason. Her involvement could be a big selling point for the movie because she is a well-known, powerful global figure.

For the record, Swift appears to be a perfect fit for Dazzler. Wearing a blue mini mask and tight silver-white spandex, she looked like a disco queen from space when she made her debut as a superhero pop star in the 1980 comic Uncanny X-Men #130. She also had the ability to turn sound into beams of light and energy. Swift’s casting would undoubtedly be a PR coup for Marvel, considering her billions of fans worldwide who span practically every demographic.

The prospect of Taylor Swift making her Marvel debut is thrilling and has sparked a lot of conjecture online. Why is she the perfect fit for the third Deadpool movie? There are many parallels between Swift and the Dazzler. The latter, a mutant with the capacity to transform sound waves into light and energy beams, is said to be one of the most famous and powerful female heroes. Thus, both Dazzler and the Blank Space singer have a reputation for being endearing and somewhat erratic.

Moreover, Swift may appear in the third installment of Deadpool as the mutant Dazzler, according to questions directed at director Shawn Levy during an interview with The Wrap. The director remarked that Swifties “sure are loud” when they called for the singer to play the X-Men hero. Unfortunately, though, because of the rumors’ connection to two well-known subjects, Swift and the MCU, Levy responded to them with:

“No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy.”
Ending on a mysterious note, Levy said that it will be a “wait and see” for fans as to whether the singer will feature in Ryan Reynolds’ blockbuster. Alongside Hugh Jackman, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Jennifer Garner, Reynolds plays Wade Wilson/Deadpool.

Deadpool 3 is currently slated for release in theaters on May 3, 2024.
