Kate Middleton shares ‘unbreakable bond’ with one royal following cancer struggles

Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex have been seen supporting each other during public events and it’s been revealed Sophie has been a ‘tower of strength’ for the Princess

Kate Middleton has been leaning on her husband Prince William amid her health challenges this year, but she’s also found support from another royal family member.

Royal author Claudia Joseph revealed that Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has been a rock for Kate during these tough times. The two royals have developed a close connection, which was apparent during their warm interactions at the Remembrance service in London.

Sophie was even spotted placing a comforting hand on Kate’s back after the ceremony. Speaking about the pair, Joseph said: “I’m sure that Sophie has been a tower of strength through Kate’s cancer diagnosis and will be there for her at the end of the phone whenever she wants a chat.”

She added: “They are incredibly close and live only 11 miles from each other – Kate in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park and Sophie at Bagshot Park.”

Joseph also pointed out the contrast between Meghan Markle’s reaction to Sophie’s offer of guidance and Kate’s enthusiastic acceptance. Speaking to Fabulous, the expert said: “Interestingly, while Meghan rebuffed Sophie’s offer to mentor her on life as a royal, Kate gracefully jumped at The Queen’s suggestion – she saw her as a solid and trustworthy member of The Firm – and the women have become close as Kate adapts to her new role as Princess of Wales.”

She continued: “She has found that Sophie is a true confidante and sounding board and they have developed a mutual respect and an unbreakable bond.”

Kate and Sophie’s supportive relationship was further evidenced by their supportive glances as they observed the Remembrance Sunday service from a balcony.

It has been reported that King Charles has also been a pillar of support for Princess Kate over the past 11 months. Both royals were diagnosed with cancer and their bond seems to have strengthened amid their health struggles.

They received treatment simultaneously at The London Clinic in January, where they reportedly offered each other significant support. A source close to King Charles told The Times: “The King has always had a close, warm and unique relationship with the princess. She has a great love and respect for him and his position. When they were in hospital together there was a lot of toddling down the corridor to spend time with her. He has been encouraging and supporting her throughout.”
