Bed bugs can become a real nightmare in the home. They are difficult to detect in time and, once established, reproduce quickly, complicating their eradication. Fortunately, there is a homemade and effective solution that you can prepare yourself using common products.

Preparation

In a clean bowl, mix the soap powder with the liquid detergent until they dissolve well.
Add the Dettol to the mixture and stir to integrate all the ingredients.
Add a glass of water to the mixture and shake again.
Pour the preparation into a spray bottle for easy application.

How to use

Spray directly on areas where bed bugs are suspected: mattresses, sofa seams, bed frames, nooks and crannies in furniture.
Also apply to areas where you sleep or sit frequently, always with caution to avoid direct inhalation of the product.
Leave it on for at least two minutes before cleaning the area or letting it ventilate.

Additional tips for greater effectiveness:

Wash bedding, curtains, and covers in hot water at least once a week while treating the infestation.
Vacuum mattresses, carpets, and corners regularly and empty the vacuum container outside the house.
Repeat the spray application every other day for a week to ensure that you eliminate eggs and new generations.
Check suitcases and belongings if you’ve traveled recently, as bed bugs often come home hidden in textiles.
Insulate the mattress with anti-bed bug covers to prevent them from reinstalling.
Seal cracks in walls, floors, and furniture where they can hide.
Avoid accumulating clothes or boxes under the bed or in unchecked corners.
Place sticky traps around the bed to monitor activity.

This method stands out for its rapid effectiveness thanks to the combined action of Dettol (antiseptic that disinfects), detergent (which penetrates the structure of insects) and soap powder (which helps to dehydrate and break down the bed bugs’ defense system).

Important: Always remember to wear gloves when handling cleaning products and keep out of reach of children.
