Ever since pop star Taylor Swift started dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, seemingly every move the couple makes has been documented by multiple news outlets and ended up all over social media.

Kelce has popped up several times at Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows over the last year, and she’s returned the favor by attending 19 Chiefs games over the last two seasons to support him (the team is 16-3 in those games).

And while many NFL fans have complained about the league’s overkill of showing Swift during games and using her in its promotional videos, as well as the Chiefs leaning into SwiftMania while tweeting about and promoting her like crazy, team CEO Clark Hunt is actually fan of Kelce and Swift’s relationship.

In fact, Hunt has every reason in the world to root for the couple to end up settling down and getting married in the not-too-distant future because he recently admitted to Bloomberg that Swift’s association with Kelce and the team has led to a 30% increase among the Chiefs’ fan base.

“I always want to point out how happy I am for Taylor and Travis in the relationship,” Hunt said. “I’ve seen them together and they make a make a fantastic couple. At the same time, the knock-on effect has been amazing, the growth in our female fan base has been amazing over the last year.”

Swift’s presence at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer on Kelce typically leads to a huge to-do on social media that includes her outfit choices going viral as well as whether or not she arrives with her own mother Andrea, Kelce’s mother Donna, Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany or anyone else of notoriety.

And when Swift is trending on social media on game days, so too are the Chiefs.

“Our security people were like, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Hunt added. “She came to the game and completely lit up social media, every other kind media.”

Swift’s “Eras Tour” ended on Sunday in Vancouver, which frees her up to attend more of Kelce’s games.

But with security measures away from Arrowhead Stadium being a concern, that leaves Kansas City’s home game against the Houston Texans on Dec. 21 as the lone regular-season game she will likely attend until the playoffs, where the Chiefs should have home-field advantage as the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
